“PELOTUDA” is a performance research project that emerges from playing with an inflatable sphere and its relationship to movement and pleasure. The work explores the organic, spiral, and continuous motion that unfolds in relation to the sphere, as well as the erotic charge that arises from engaging with it, trusting its instability, and insisting on that connection.

The title not only refers to this interaction, but also alludes to a colloquial expression from the Río de la Plata region used to describe what is perceived as trivial or lacking meaning. Through humor and critique, the piece challenges the ways contemporary dance and non-productive artistic practices are socially perceived, and how this gaze shapes the way dancers come to understand their own creations and themselves.

In this sense, PELOTUDA both celebrates and questions the absurd, erotic, and pleasurable dimensions of dance practice.
